Full-Time | Operational Environment | $120,000 plus superannuation
TCB Recruitment is proud to be partnering with our client to find an experienced and capable HR Generalist for a full-time, standalone position within their dynamic operational business.
This is a hands-on role well suited to someone who thrives working autonomously, enjoys partnering closely with leaders, and has a track record of delivering practical HR support across the full employee lifecycle. You will play a key role in providing sound HR guidance, managing workforce matters, improving systems and processes, and ensuring HR practices remain compliant and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to senior leadership, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing practical HR advice and support to leaders across the business, acting as a trusted partner on all people matters
- Managing recruitment from interviewing to reference checking to ensure a positive experience for new starters
- Supporting performance review and development processes, helping to build a culture of continuous improvement
- Leading employee relations matters including investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes with confidence and professionalism
- Ensuring compliance across employment legislation, modern awards, policies and procedures, keeping the business informed and up to date
- Maintaining and improving HR documentation, systems and processes to support operational efficiency
- Providing HR reporting and workforce data insights to inform people-related decision making
- Supporting employee engagement and retention initiatives that contribute to a positive workplace culture
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Proven experience in a HR Generalist, HR Advisor or standalone HR role, with the ability to manage a broad remit independently
- Strong employee relations capability and the confidence to manage complex matters without close supervision
- Experience working within engineering, construction, contracting or another operational environment is highly regarded
- A sound understanding of Australian employment legislation, modern awards and HR best practice
- Experience with Employment Hero advantageous, not essential
- A hands-on, organised approach and the ability to work autonomously across competing priorities
- Strong communication skills and a genuine solutions-focused mindset
