Project Manager — Commercial Fencing

Full-Time | Permanent | Perth, North of the River | Up to $150K+ Super
Company 4WD + Fuel Card | Phone & Laptop | No FIFO   TCB Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a values-driven, fast-growing commercial fencing business servicing the civil infrastructure sector across Perth, WA. Our client builds teams as well as fences,  and they're looking for a Project Manager who leads by example.

About the Employer

Our client is a Perth-based commercial fencing contractor with a team of approximately 40 dedicated professionals who take pride in delivering quality outcomes on civil infrastructure projects. Operating exclusively in the commercial fencing space, no residential, no distractions, they run a focused, high-performing operation.
As part of a strategic growth plan, they are scaling operations and need a Project Manager who can grow with them. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on being out on site, building strong teams, and delivering results.

The Role

Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Project Manager is responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of commercial fencing projects across civil and infrastructure sites in and around Perth. You will lead field crews, coordinate subcontractors, manage programme and productivity, and serve as the key point of contact for clients and site supervisors on the ground.
A dedicated Estimating team handles all quoting, so you can focus on what matters most: leading your people and delivering great projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage scheduling and delivery across multiple concurrent commercial fencing and civil construction projects
  • Directly oversee 6–8 Team Leads and their Trade Assistants, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality across all active sites
  • Work daily with Site Supervisors on quality control and on-ground execution
  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for engineers, client-side project managers, and development managers
  • Represent the business with professionalism and integrity on site and in client meetings
  • Monitor project progress against programme, identifying and resolving issues proactively before they escalate
  • Ensure compliance with site safety, environmental, and quality requirements at all times
  • Manage plant, equipment, and material logistics including excavation works and post driving
  • Provide clear and regular project reporting to senior management
  • Support the recruitment, mentoring, and development of field staff and Team Leads
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across all sites

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Senior Site Supervisor role within civil construction, earthworks, or a related trade
  • Strong people leadership skills, you bring calm, clarity, and direction to your team
  • Experience with excavator operation or a solid understanding of machine-based site work (highly regarded)
  • Background in carpentry, civil construction, structural trades, or general contracting, you understand how things go together
  • Commercial fencing experience is an advantage but not essential, we will train the right person
  • Excellent communication skills, clear, direct, and professional with both crews and clients
  • Strong organisational ability, you can juggle multiple construction projects and shifting priorities
  • Clean, current driver's licence; HC/MC licence and relevant tickets are a bonus

What Kind of Person Thrives Here?

We're not just hiring for experience — we're hiring for attitude, values, and leadership presence. The right person will be someone the team genuinely wants to follow.
  • Solution-focused, you see problems as things to fix, not reasons to complain
  • Personable and approachable, your team respects you and clients enjoy working with you
  • Accountable, you take ownership, follow through, and hold your team to the same standard
  • Values-driven, you align with a business that prioritises culture, honesty, and doing things the right way
  • Resilient and adaptable, civil construction moves fast and so do you

What's on Offer

  • Attractive total package of $150K + super
  • Company 4WD with fuel card:  Private use permitted
  • Phone and laptop provided
  • Join a purpose-built team with a genuine, collaborative culture, no politics, no nonsense
  • Be part of a growing business where your impact is visible and your contribution is recognised
  • Work on commercial civil infrastructure projects across Perth, no FIFO required
  • Supportive senior leadership that invests in people and promotes from within
  • A workplace that values work-life balance and a sustainable approach to growth

If you're a hands-on construction leader who builds strong teams, stays solutions-focused under pressure, and takes pride in civil infrastructure delivery — we'd love to hear from you.
